    We’re looking for an Inventory & Warehouse Management expert with excellent skills on behalf of a Kettering-based manufacturing company.

    This is an interesting and varied role, and the successful applicant will oversee warehouse operations and inventory control to maintain high customer service and confidence in the inventory data, as well as supporting business requirements to ensure the company remains audit-ready and SOX compliant.

    Please note that this role is a six month fixed term contract. Due to business requirements, applicants must be immediately available.

     

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Monitoring the inventory cycle of counts and adjustments;
    • Holding third party logistics business partners and internal stakeholders accountable for unexplained or excessive discrepancies through robust audit processes;
    • Taking responsibility for inventory accuracy to 99% within the overall Supply Chain Strategy;
    • Managing stock location control;
    • Creating and administering robust audit process for external Business Partners;
    • Devising and managing load reference process for ALL outbound customer and OSS loads;
    • Robustly reconciling and auditing the 3PL invoicing process;
    • Checking and raising PO’s for the Warehouse and OSS;
    • Creating visibility of the Warehouse dispatch plan in the form of an advanced daily report;
    • Ensuring 3PLs and internal stakeholders adhere to plans and where needed ensure corrective actions are in place;
    • Driving best practice to control inventory of aging finished goods while reducing potential scrapping
      and strive to operate at lower costs YOY;
    • Ensuring the business is audit ready – (PWC, EY and POST) and SOX compliant;
    • Reviewing Inventory SOP’s, ensuring all stake holders are held accountable for training and adhering to agreed processes;
    • Improving receipting processes using Root Cause Analysis and feed back to all stakeholders;
    • Maintaining inventory accuracy for all storage locations across the whole inventory portfolio;
    • Driving and supporting key initiatives to make improvements and mitigate risk to inventory levels;
    • Supporting the reporting and recording of all pallet usage on site;
    • Supporting AX/WMS Inventory issues while contributing to towards a permanent solution;
    • Actively supporting other business functions to ensure the correct understanding of supply chain options including new product launches, complexity reduction, capital projects, etc.

     

    Essential skills and experience required:

    • Extensive previous experience in a similar role, ideally within an FMCG environment;
    • Detailed operational knowledge of warehouse and distribution processes, with a focus on Inventory control;
    • Experience of domestic and international markets with multiple production sites;
    • Experience of SOX and working with external auditors
    • Able to confidently interpret internal or external business issues and recommend solutions/best practices;
    • Proven change management skills and experience, with the ability to solve complex problems;
    • Able to challenge and influence key stakeholders;
    • Demonstrates good analytical thinking;
    • Understands business financials, product and market challenges;
    • Able to design and develop future storage solutions and inventory projects.

     

    Preferred additional experience:

    • Knowledge of Microsoft AX & Manhattan;
    • A solid understanding of process flows from Order to Cash and Procure to Pay;
    • Knowledge and experience of ERP & WMS systems and other logistics tools.

     

    Hours of work

    • Monday to Friday – 35 hours per week
    • Flexibility between the hours of 8am and 6pm

     

    Salary and benefits:

    • £35,000 – £40,000
