    In this role you will be working under the direction of the Facilities Officer & Engineer, to assist with the management of the day to day operational running of the organisation’s premises throughout the district. This will involve ensuring that processes are up to date in relation to contractor management, energy management, day to day health and safety in relation to the Buildings and Facilities, estates and space management.

    This is an ongoing temporary assignment and due to the requirements of the business and the role, applicants must be available to start immediately. This role will require candidates to have a full driving licence and their own means of transport due to the location of some of the properties.


    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Being the point of contact between users of the organisation’s premises and the facilities management service provision and other partners on a day to day basis.
    • Overseeing the day to day operational performance of the facilities management services including rotas, complaints and health and safety issues are dealt with or escalated as appropriate
    • Ensuring planned and reactive maintenance of properties takes place and regular updating and monitoring of planned schedules
    • Arranging of external contractors to be on site as required and ensuring they are inducted, and risk assessments are carried out
    • To have an active lead role as Fire Coordinator ensuring that all relevant regular checks are carried out in relation to the prevention of fire and risk assessments are reviewed on a regular basis
    • Ensuring weekly fire alarm test rotas are covered and that there are adequate fire personnel available on site
    • Responsible for budget administration and reporting / tracking of all services within agreed budgets


    Skills and experience required:

    • Previous experience working within a facilities environment
    • Experience of managing service provision with external providers
    • Experience of managing budgets and working with strategies / policies to support service delivery
    • Commercial awareness (public sector) advantageous
    • Proven IT skills (MS Office)
    • Ability to organise, delegate and multi-task
    • Negotiating and influencing over a range of issues
    • Able to review work carried out by external providers ensuring it meets specification / expectations
    • Strong communication skills both written and verbal


    Hours of work:

    • Monday to Friday – 5.00pm (37 hours)
