We are currently supporting the recruitment of a Business Development Director for a dynamic and forward-thinking marketing services company who provide innovative solutions for clients and their thousands of brands. Considered leading experts in their market, they are uniquely positioned to deliver valuable insights on UK consumer promotions.

We’re looking for a Business Development superstar from a digital agency or digital media background, who excels in building prosperous relationships with clients and helping them to realise the true potential of the range of digital services available to them.

The role offers fantastic development potential and for the right candidate, could progress into a sales management position.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • Drive new sales revenues from promoting existing services and develop new propositions
  • Develop relationships with existing customers by cross selling new products and services, maximising opportunities and increasing marketing spend
  • Be the point of contact for a wide and varied client base
  • Prepare and implement sales plans and strategies
  • Generate and qualify new leads, and pitch to prospective clients
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and proposals
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and close sales
  • Prepare sales contracts and see through to completion
  • Monitor and research digital media market including market conditions, competition and innovations
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and FMCG activity
  • Develop relationships with 3rd party agencies to refer projects and identify alternative income streams
  • Maintain sales activity records and report on performance
  • Take ownership of and drive sales strategy
  • Build a positive team environment by delivery of personal goals, targets and objectives


Skills and experience required:

  • Proven track record in solution sales
  • At least three years experience in a digital medial or ecommerce environment
  • Experience of leading a sales team including performance management, reviews and appraisals
  • Networks confidently with client organisations
  • Experience in consumer promotions and with grocery, retail or FMCG clients is desirable


Salary and benefits:

  • £45,000 – £55,000 basic + car allowance
  • Excellent commission scheme – anticipated OTE £70-80k in Year 1, £90k+ Year 2
  • 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
