    We’re looking for an outstanding Financial Controller with real commercial vision to join a well-established and expanding international distribution and freight solutions provider at one of their UK sites in Corby.

    The objective of this role will not only be to ensure the financial success of the site through taking ownership and control of all site budgets/ forecasts and financials but to play an important wider part in the advancement of the business through your commercial expertise in in order to support the operational teams to achieve their strategic objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Variance analysis and support with business commentaries and presentations
    • Delivering company budgets and forecasting in collaboration with the management team
    • KPI implementation, development and monitoring
    • Customer profitability analysis
    • Investment appraisals and CAPEX control
    • Costing of new business opportunities
    • Work closely with UK Shared Service Centre to ensure overall financial alignment for the business
    • Provide robust analytical and financial decision support and expertise to the site
    • Explore and initiate opportunities for reducing costs and maximizing efficiencies to support the business
    • Building strong relationships and high credibility with internal stakeholders
    • Ad-hoc financial analysis as requested from UK Board of Directors


    Skills and experience required:

    • ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified professional (AAT will be considered)
    • At least 5 years’ experience of working within a similar role, including the management of small / developing finance teams
    • Prior exposure to (and sound understanding of) working within a logistics / 3PL environment
    • Strong IT skills with an advanced knowledge of MS Excel
    • Extensive experience of working within in a cross-functional management team
    • Strong people management and leadership skills
    • Enjoys taking ownership of tasks and working with a self-motivated and enterprising approach
    • Demonstrates a growth mindset and an interest in seeing the role and business develop
    • Confident in leading, challenging and influencing both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
    • Ability to highlight commercial opportunities and risk
    • Takes a collaborative approach
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, working with positivity, charisma and a tireless drive for results
    • Enjoys taking bold steps to meet ambitious targets through the development of highly organised, well prioritised and resilient processes.


    Hours of work:

    • 37.5 per week
    • 08:30 – 17:30 (40-hour working week)


    Salary and benefits:

    • Salary banding £55,000 – £65,000
    • 25 days holidays plus 8 bank holidays (pro rata)
    • Pension scheme
