    We’re looking for a qualified Financial Controller to manage the Group accounts for an established and reputable independent organisation.

    The successful candidate will monitor and manage the day-to-day financial operations within the company and work closely with all business functions to support growth, turnover and profitability and provide insightful analytical information to the MD and CFO to assist with strategical decision making.

    This is an interesting and varied role and presents a wonderful opportunity for someone who has previous experience in a Financial Controller role for a SME organisation or a qualified accountant who has the desire to develop into this role.

     

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Management of the accounting function
    • Completion of monthly management accounts to be presented to the board
    • Sales and margin analysis
    • Financial review / budget meetings with function heads
    • Cash flow management
    • Financial forecasts
    • Reporting on current order book on a regular basis
    • Periodic reporting to legislative bodies on bookings and departures as required by travel legislation
    • Year-end audit & liaising with external auditors
    • Management of treasury function particularly with respect to foreign exchange
    • Developing financial reporting systems to cater for the needs of a growing business

     

    Skills and experience required:

    • Qualified Accountant ACCA / ACA / CIMA
    • Strong background in financial accounting
    • Strong people management skills
    • Excellent IT skills, particularly MS Office / SAGE
    • Ability to instigate change while working in a unified manner as part of a team
    • Progressive, ambitious and forward-thinking approach
    • An interest in working in the travel industry would be beneficial, but is not essential

     

    Hours of work:

    • Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm (1-hour lunch)
