Duties and responsibilities:
- Preparing management information and VAT returns accurately and in a timely fashion for an agreed number of clients
- Participating in client meetings where required, managing and exceeding client expectations by ensuring that they are always well-informed and understand all of the work produced
- Delivering an excellent level of customer services at all time, replying to all correspondence and adhoc queries promptly
- Maintaining up to date technical and industry knowledge and attending all relevant training, conferences and seminars
- Keeping management informed of the status of all work, along with details of any challenge or delays encountered and suggestions for any appropriate and viable solutions
- Prioritising and managing all work efficiently, profitably and in accordance with the Company’s procedures
- Participating and contributing to the development of the team, assisting to meet its objectives in line with the overall Company strategy and values
- Actively assisting in marketing the specialist services provided by the team
Skills and experience required:
- Relevant experience in a similar accountancy role
- Prior work with a medical sector client base would be ideal, but is not crucial, as long as you have experience of working in a practice environment
- AAT qualified as a minimum
- Understanding of personal and partnership tax would be advantageous
- IT proficient, with a good understanding of MS Office and an ability to adapt to using new software such as Sage and IRIS quickly and easily.
- Diligent, client-focused approach, with an eye for detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills together with the confidence to network locally and help develop the business
Hours of work:
- Monday to Friday, full-time, with a flexible working pattern structured around core hours
Salary and benefits:
- £26,000 – £35,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications
