    We’re looking for an experienced and talented Account Manager with strong business development skills and a commitment to establishing long-lasting and prosperous professional relationships with key clients.

    The successful candidate will join a well-reputed and successful manufacturer, supplier and distributor, known internationally for their well-loved brands. This exciting new opportunity is vital to the expansion and development of new business and growth within existing national accounts.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Maintaining and growing retail partners, maximising sales and marketing opportunities within these accounts
    • Driving the points of distribution across the UK retail landscape
    • Identifying and prioritising new business accounts in line with customer strategy
    • Management of P&L and margin strategy for your accounts
    • Providing structured joint business plans for top tier accounts that will stimulate growth and brand exposure
    • Negotiating and managing trading terms across the retail base
    • Ensuring that all trading information is maintained up to date on the company databases
    • Producing weekly sales updates for forecasting and budgeting purposes
    • Liaising with the customer services and accounts teams on order book management and credit risks
    • Participating in marketing activities as required such as product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions, etc
    • Attending and actively participating in sales and marketing meetings
    • Working within a wider team to support the other departments in sector driven activities
    • Maintaining excellent product knowledge on the whole product range
    • Maintaining a good awareness of market and competitor activities and report as necessary
    • This role will require UK and international travel as well as attending all necessary trade shows, some of which may be overseas


    Skills and experience required:

    • Extensive experience in a similar Key Account or National Account Manager role, selling premium quality branded items in markets such as toys, nursery, publishing, or apparel
    • You will be comfortable with taking on a role which requires a lot of new business development as well as nurturing existing business
    • Demonstrates an enthusiastic, proactive and positive “can-do” approach
    • Enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues in a very small team environment
    • Used to working for a business which operates at a fast pace, with structure and attention to detail
    • Strong skills in numeracy, communication (both written and verbal) and excellent analytical and IT skills
    • Happy to take direction from the Head of Sales but also be able to work autonomously and with initiative


    Hours of work:

    • Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm with 30 minutes’ lunch break
    • Working from the office at least 3 days per week with a flexible option to work from home 2 days per week


    Salary and benefits:

    • £45,000 – £50,000
    • Annual bonus scheme
