An independently owned leading operator of special interest holidays is looking for a conscientious Purchase Ledger Clerk to provide support to the wider finance team in all areas of accounts administration.
Along with a salary of up to £24,000 per annum, you will also receive 20 days holiday plus bank holidays and on-site parking.
Working hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:30 (1-hour unpaid lunch) with the opportunity to work on a flexible hybrid contract.
As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving supplier invoices, entering to purchase ledger on Sage line 50
- Clearing supplier invoices for payment by working closely with product managers and operations
- Responsible for correctly coding purchase costs to specific tours & departments
- Downloading credit card / prepaid card statements & sending statements to card holders for coding expenses, clearing and communicating with the card holder for timely and accurate submission to the finance department
- Preparing supplier payment runs ready for authorisation by the Financial Controller
- Correctly coding overhead invoices, tour manager and employee expenses
- Nominal ledger journal entry
- Supplier statement reconciliations, identifying missing invoices, chasing suppliers to send missing invoices
- Provide holiday cover for bank posting & bank reconciliations
We are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk who has the following skills and experiences:
- Previous experience working in a similar role (in an accounts/finance environment)
- Excellent organisational and administration skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Computer literate (use of Microsoft packages including Excel. Experience using Sage 50 would be advantageous although not essential as training can be provided)
- Good communication and interaction skills for both internal and external communications
- Ability to remain calm and attentive when working with deadlines
- Willingness to learn new skills and have a flexible approach to take on additional tasks as required to meet the needs of the business
