    We’re proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-reputed local 3PL business who are currently seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their friendly team.

    In this fast-paced and interesting role, the successful candidate will use their sound understanding of logistics processes to deliver seamless transport planning for all general deliveries and collections.

    The company is looking for applicants with excellent attention to detail, who enjoy problem-solving and demonstrate a flair for prioritisation and organisation.

     

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Carrying out transport planning for all general deliveries and collections.
    • Consolidating loads.
    • Updating and managing resource levels, trailer requirements and driver start times.
    • Making any required agency bookings.
    • Raising, investigating, communicating and completing non-conformance records.
    • Liaising with customers to communicate transport plans.
    • Printing vehicle manifests and sending to required teams.
    • Subcontracting work to agreed rates.
    • Ensuring all consignments available are planned by 1600hrs.
    • Producing and delivering an end-of-shift report.

     

    Skills and experience required:

    • Extensive previous experience in Transport Planning role, ideally in a 3PL environment.
    • Sound working knowledge of WMS systems.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
    • IT proficient, with good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
    • Strong numeracy, attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good organisational and time management skills.
    • Takes an analytical, problem-solving approach.
    • Able to work in a busy environment as an effective member of the team.
    • Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative.

     

    Hours of work:

    • Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm
