Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to work within a banking environment as an Accounts Clerk reporting to the Accounts Department Manager. This role will largely involve the completion of timely reconciliations of accounts for the organisation. The ideal person for this role will have previous experience of working on volume reconciliations and be working towards their AAT qualification.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Accurate completion of bank statements and bank reconciliations within agreed timescales
  • Monitoring, balancing and control of petty cash
  • Monthly reconciliation of the Insurance creditor records to the Nominal Ledger within agreed timelines
  • Monitoring and clearance of the Accounts Suspense account(s)
  • Posting of the PDQ transactions (credit/debit cards) and their timely reconciliation
  • Accurate and timely reconciliation of control accounts
  • Accurate and timely reconciliation of the Branch controls and floats

Skills and experience required:

  • Working towards AAT qualification is desirable
  • Experience of volume reconciliations
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Word
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and support other areas when needed

Salary and benefits:

  • £18,000 - £20,000 dependent upon experience
