Job Description

We are seeking a Bid Writer / Bid Support Manager to join one of the UK´s leading specialists in their field. The successful applicant will be responsible for writing, managing and producing responses to public sector tenders. To be successful in this role, you'll need to be an excellent writer, highly organised and have great attention to detail to ensure you manage your workload effectively, and meet deadlines. A strong level of IT literacy is also an essential requirement (standard 'Office' packages).

You will be working in an established, dynamic company, with friendly colleagues who will help you to excel in the role. We are looking for is a driven person with a real flair for writing. This role may also suit a University graduate in subjects such as English or History who has a desire to move into the commercial world.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Writing clear, concise and compelling bid content which communicates the win themes and ensures a compliant bid
  • Managing ITT opportunities
  • Producing bid plans with the Sales Director to maximise win chance
  • Producing hard copy and electronic responses to PQQs and ITTs
  • Supporting sales and marketing activity
  • Accessing and reviewing opportunities provided through various online portals
  • Producing bid summaries to inform senior management bid/no bid decisions
  • Maintaining accurate records of opportunities and bids
  • Managing the bid library
  • Contributing to the writing and production of marketing collateral and case studies
  • Supporting marketing events

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience in a bid management or bid support role is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: ability to distil complex information into key messages and produce compelling yet concise copy
  • Able to work on own initiative but also operate within a wider team
  • Project management skills
  • Strong planner, able to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Excellent skills with standard industry software e.g. MS Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement is desirable but not essential
  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills

Salary and benefits:
