Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Coordinator to work for an established family owned and personable company based in Corby. You will have a 'can do' attitude and willingness to learn. You will be highly organised with IT skills in Excel and PowerPoint from intermediate to advanced. Successful candidates will have knowledge/experience of a sales environment. This role will develop into a Business Development Manager role as future training will be given.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Hitting new business targets on contract manufacturing & territory brands
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets in accordance with all company procedures and codes of conduct
  • Prospecting - Identify sales opportunities and potential customers
  • Generate and qualify leads from a variety of sources
  • Supporting HBD on national accounts & administration including forecasting, stock control and quotations
  • Cold call prospective customers by phone and in person
  • Database management - Utilise sales pipeline, develop and implement sales activity plans across the month and year. Utilisation of the company database
  • Make sales calls to new customers, as well as making and preparing for customer appointments
  • Respond to sales enquiries by phone, electronically and in person (if required)
  • Develop and deliver presentations and sample requirements
  • Working with Social media / LinkedIn
  • Develop and articulate an effective sales proposition
  • Develop strong business relationships with customers via a variety of contacts including buyers, marketing, branch personnel, support functions and peers
  • Maintain company database and maintain up to date customer meeting and activity records
  • Prepare and deliver regular sales reports and management information as required
  • Market & desk research
  • Monitor competitor activity, market conditions, and product development, reporting/escalating key activity, developments and issues as necessary
  • Additional duties which are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job

Skills and experience required:

Working hours:

  • Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm (30mins for lunch)

Salary and benefits:

  • £18,000 - £20,000
  • 20 days' annual leave + 8 bank holidays - Holiday increase 1 day each year max of 5
