Job Description

We are currently supporting the recruitment of a Business Development Manager for a dynamic and forward-thinking marketing services company who provide innovative solutions for clients and their thousands of brands. Our client is uniquely positioned to deliver insights on UK consumer promotions and is considered an expert in their market.

This is an exciting opportunity to grow sales in the print division of the company, including marketing materials, mailing products and secure vouchers. The company work with leading FMCG brand manufacturers, most of whom are existing clients, so the role will also include further developing these accounts.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Drive new print sales revenues from existing services and develop new propositions
  • Prepare sales plans and strategies
  • Generate and qualify leads, and pitch to prospective clients
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and proposals
  • Negotiate and close sales with clients
  • Prepare sales contracts and see through to completion
  • Monitor and research print market including market conditions, competition and innovations
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and FMCG activity
  • Maintain sales activity records and report on performance to the Sales Director
  • Drive Personal Development Plan and actions to deliver ongoing professional expertise improvement, market awareness and improved effectiveness
  • Build a positive team environment by delivery of personal goals, targets and objectives

Skills and experience required:

  • Print industry sales experience is essential, along with a proven business development track record in the sector
  • A network of established contacts and connections in the UK print industry
  • Ability to network throughout a client organisation to identify and progress further potential business
  • Evidence of having built and maintained strong and lasting client relationships
  • Able to give examples of business development successes borne of excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can demonstrate having successfully managed accounts which have required an entrepreneurial, enthusiastic and self-motivated approach
  • Full UK driving licence

Salary and benefits:

  • £35,000 + car allowance + commission
