Job Description

We are looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor for an established and professional full-service law firm. Excellent communication skills and a consistently good billing record are essential as well as the ability to assist with the firm's business development. To succeed in this exciting opportunity, you will have the proven ability to deal with a full range of Commercial Litigation disputes working for mid-level SME's to larger nationals. Applicants should already have a strong technical understanding of the litigation process and be capable of running client matters independently.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Undertaking fee earning work in the field of Company / Commercial Law
  • Providing expert legal support and advice to clients
  • Taking instructions from clients and advising on the necessary courses of legal action
  • Conducting matters on behalf of clients, providing an excellent service and communication to client
  • Working with a good client base of long established customers with the ability to develop new clients via networking and referrals
  • Carrying out risk assessments on all files and notifying compliance of any risks
  • Managing client caseload to completion
  • Working where necessary as part of a project team
  • Delegating work to trainee solicitors, paralegals and legal secretaries as appropriate
  • Producing and advising clients on a broad range of matters from general commercial litigation involving breach of commercial contracts, disputes and commercial injunctions to more specialised areas

Skills and experience required:

  • 2-3 years PQE in Company / Commercial Law or NQ Associate level with 0-2 PQE with proven commercial exposure
  • Evidence of completion of a Solicitor Training Contact / CILEX Equivalent
  • You will be expected to maintain your CPD record and comply with SRA/CILEX requirements
  • Previous experience within a reputable law firm
  • A consistent and strong academic record
  • The ability to work independently
  • Excellent relationship building skills and communication
  • Strong client management skills, professionalism and integrity

Salary and benefits:

  • £37,000 plus an attractive benefits package
