Job Description

We are looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor for an established and professional full-service law firm. Excellent communication skills and a consistently good billing record are essential as well as the ability to assist with the firm's business development and implementation of a yearly marketing plan.

To be successful you will have proven experience of dealing with development strategic land/acquisitions of high value sites/leasehold and landlord and tenant.

Our client is particularly interested in hearing from highly ambitious 3-5-year PQE solicitors. However, we are also open to considering talented candidates outside of this PQE bracket.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing full legal advice and assistance to clients
  • Assisting the partner and other members of the department
  • Advise and represent clients on a range of commercial property matters, including landlord and tenant agreements, freehold and leasehold conveyancing
  • Effectively handle own case load and delegate authority to other 'expert' fee earners as appropriate
  • Conduct negotiations on behalf of the client
  • Visit the client and opponent's solicitors, when appropriate, in relation to dealing with the clients matters
  • Obtain appropriate specialist advice from other relevant departments
  • Obtain relevant information from the most appropriate resource
  • Assist the partner with the implementation of a yearly marketing plan to promote products to existing and potential clients, creating a 'quality and client' focused image whilst maximising fee earning capacity
  • Agree fee income targets with the departmental heads
  • Ensure that bills are presented to clients on a regular basis as agreed
  • To keep up with relevant changes in law and ensure that these are communicated to others within the department
  • Support with the development of the skills and qualities of subordinates

Skills and experience required:

  • 3-5 years PQE in Commercial Property
  • Evidence of completion of a Solicitor Training Contract / CILEX Equivalent
  • You will be expected to maintain your CPD record and comply with SRA/CILEX requirements
  • Previous experience within a reputable law firm
  • The ability to work independently
  • Stamina and resilience
  • Excellent relationship building skills and communication
  • Strong client management skills, professionalism and integrity

Salary and benefits:

  • Up to £45,000 - salary is dependent on level of PQE between 1-5 Years
