Job Description

Our client, a successful manufacturing organisation, is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their friendly team. The role will include the maintenance of all customer accounts, including cash collection, in a timely manner according to customer payment terms and conditions.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • High volume telephone contact daily with customers and internal transport and customer service departments to ensure regular collection of cash
  • Processing of credit card payments
  • Processing and generating reminder letters and monthly statements
  • Set up and maintain customer files
  • Re-negotiation of customer payment plans
  • Liaison with sales and accounts receivable to investigate and resolve queries relating to non-payment of invoices with sales department and client
  • Debt escalation to supervisor for legal action
  • Prepare COD report for the Transport Department
  • Daily checks of delivery and order schedules, against customer accounts, to ensure that goods are not made or delivered to non-paying customers
  • Place clients on stop and update all relevant parties
  • Regular liaison with the Area Sales Team to update on client account status

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience within a credit control role
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and Vlookups) is essential
  • Tenacious and resilient person with effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Numerate with a good eye for detail
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and support other areas when needed
  • Training will be given on the accounting software and in-house system

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm (1hour lunch)

Salary and benefits:

  • Up to £20,000 dependent on experience
