Job Description

Our client, a successful nationwide wholesaler, is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their friendly team. You will be responsible for chasing outstanding debt to the company and will play a pivotal role in the cash-flow of the organisation ensuring credit given to customers is monitored and controlled effectively.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Chasing debt by telephone, letter and email, to reduce debt and DSO
  • Achieving monthly targets in relation to overdue debt
  • Ensuring credit facility on all accounts is covered by credit insurers
  • Updating and communicating any credit term revisions
  • Prompt communication of issues to relevant parties to be able to facilitate collection, control credit offered and improve future performance
  • Weekly reporting to the Finance Manager on overdue debt, credit limit changes, liquidation and general queries and issues
  • Processing and generating reminder letters and monthly statements
  • Creating new customer accounts as required
  • Liaison with sales and accounts receivable teams to resolve outstanding queries
  • Recording of detailed notes from customer communication
  • Reconciling customer accounts
  • Recording credit requests on system and updating team members

Skills and experience required:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Credit Controller
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAP is essential
  • Self-motivated and resilient with effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Confident, proactive and target driven individual
  • Numerate with a good eye for detail
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and support other areas when needed

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday 08:30am - 17:00pm

Salary and benefits:

  • £22,000 - £24,000 dependent upon experience
  • 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
