Job Description

A new and exciting position has become available, our client is looking for a candidate who is extremely organised, driven and likes to achieve results to a high standard.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Customer Services Manager in all aspects and ideally come from a manufacturing or industrial background.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Checking sales orders and schedules
  • Monitor pricing of products
  • Ensure allocated customer account files etc. are kept up to date
  • Liaise with Production/Despatch to progress orders, keep customers informed of any delay/issues and track resolution to problems
  • Support the Customer Services Manager and cover other members of staff during absence
  • Attend weekly purchasing meetings
  • Provide stock control information, demands of products, Slow Moving Stock report, check consignment notes, advise Purchasing Manager
  • Minimise excessive freight costs by monitoring global air freights and updating system
  • Communicate problems to relevant personnel as soon as they occur and co-ordinate response to customer
  • Update training notes
  • Undertake specific projects as and when required
  • Communicate with Account Manager any issues and update Customer Feedback Monitor
  • Identify any additional business opportunities within allocated accounts
  • Administration duties
  • Ensure shipments are made and booked
  • Adhoc duties when required

Skills and experience required:

  • Good typing skills with the ability to use your initiative and work independently
  • Must have a solid customer service background in an office environment
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel and numeracy; PowerPoint and strong Word skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy skills with excellent communication and the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Good verbal and written grammar
  • Driven and proactive individual
  • Highly organised

Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 5.15 pm
  • Friday 8.00am - 1pm

Salary and benefits:

  • £20,000 - £25,000 dependent on experience
  • Pension
  • 20 days annual holiday + 8 Bank holidays
