Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced European Sales Business Development Manager to join a growing organisation within the Automated Test Systems or Power Supply industry.

As part of a continued growth plan we are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to expand the current sales and product market share.

The company head office is based in Leicestershire; however, the role is European and requires extensive travel.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Working the full sales cycle from identifying prospects through to generating and bringing on new business
  • Through research, identify and compile target prospect lists and generate own leads
  • Identifying key accounts and market requirements; identifying trend, threats and opportunities for product improvement
  • Develop short-term and long-term strategies and sales plans for new account acquisition and management of all established customers
  • Arrange and attend sales visits and pitch to potential new clients, this will involve travel to customer sites across the European Union
  • Prepare presentations and proposals for clients
  • Maintain contact with potential clients and develop relationships through to sale
  • Development of sales and marketing activities such as trade shows, company newsletters, presentations, website and direct marketing activities
  • Control monthly 'cost of sales' budgets

Skills and experience required:

  • Must have a proven track record in sales in capital goods and/or engineering products
  • Sales and marketing experience within the automated test system or power supply industry
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or recognised equivalent skill
  • Demonstrate a 'customer-centric' approach
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Self-starter, ability to set your own sales business plan
  • Experience of selling to B2B environments
  • Exceptional relationship management skills
  • Highly organised and strong attention to detail
  • Confident, professional and approachable
  • Ambitious, hardworking and driven
  • Full driving licence essential

Salary and benefits:

  • £35,000 - £55,000 basic + OTE
  • 21 days annual holiday + bank holidays
