Due to recent and continued growth, this trusted local business is now seeking a proactive and ambitious individual to join their organisation as an Assistant Finance Manager. You will primarily be responsible for providing management support to the Finance Manager for all accounting activities and management reporting.

Working as part of this ambitious and customer-focused organisation, the successful applicant will take responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day financial management of the company with the help of a part-time Assistant.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Transactional accounting
  • Debt management
  • Liaising with outsourced payroll bureau and HMRC
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register, calculating depreciation and dealing with disposals
  • Posting journals and preparing monthly management accounts along with commentary
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Margin control
  • Financial analysis
  • Carrying out any other financial project work as required

Skills and experience required:

  • AAT Qualified and wanting to study for ACCA OR CIMA qualification
  • Previous experience of completing management accounts
  • Strong MS Excel skills (assessment will be completed) and experience of an accountancy package (Sage preferred)
  • Experience of working with stock would be advantageous
  • Shows initiative and looks at continuous improvement and streamlining of processes
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset and an interest in seeing the role, department and business develop

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours per week

Salary and benefits:

  • Circa £28,000
  • Study Support for ACCA or CIMA qualification
