Job Description

We're currently inviting applications from Financial Controllers who would love to take on an exciting new challenge within a thriving local company.

Our client, long established as the UK market leader in their field, have enjoyed recent growth which is set to continue through their commitment to ongoing progression and product development.

The successful candidate will enjoy the autonomy of working in a standalone role and will ensure that the finance function of the business is fulfilled and delivered in an organised, efficient and accurate manner.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Taking responsibility for all financial aspects of the business
  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cashflows
  • Maintaining financial ledgers and accounting processes
  • Preparing monthly management accounts
  • Carrying out stock control checks at month and year-end
  • Overseeing weekly and monthly payroll for approximately 40 employees
  • Ensuring VAT and Intrastat duties are completed in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Managing Accounts Payable / Sales Ledger function
  • Handling adhoc project work
  • Recognising areas for process improvements or changes and implementing solutions
  • Helping colleagues within other areas of the business where required

Skills and experience required:

  • Extensive proven experience as a Financial Controller (or similar role), ideally within a manufacturing or product-focused business
  • AAT, CIMA or ACCA qualified
  • Proficient in the use of Sage 50 Payroll / Sage 200 software
  • Good knowledge of VAT and EC Sales List
  • Strong IT skills, with the ability to produce effective and comprehensive reports
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm (37.5 hours)

Salary and benefits:

  • £32,000 - £38,000
  • Non-contractual bonus
  • 23 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
