Job Description

We are currently supporting the recruitment of a French speaking Key Account Manager for a well-established manufacturer of industrial hygiene products.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Account Manager with a proven track record in food and beverage or industrial products industries, who has experience of managing high profile accounts and bringing on new business.

You will be responsible for managing and developing the sales activity of key European accounts in France and Benelux, with the aim of growing sales to achieve and exceed targets at a profitable margin. This is a UK based role involving significant European travel.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage and develop an existing customer base of key accounts within assigned territories
  • Upsell and cross sell as appropriate to deliver targeted growth for the region
  • Identify new business opportunities, develop contacts and follow up leads for future prospects
  • Respond to and qualify incoming product enquiries and sales leads
  • Prepare pricing proposals and process quotations
  • Plan and conduct extensive customer visits to ensure the achievement of sales objectives
  • Develop strong relationships with existing customer base, introducing new products and promotional campaigns
  • Monitor underperforming accounts and address any issues
  • Pitch and present to prospective clients, secure sales and develop pipeline of new customers
  • Liaise with Head of Sales to develop and implement effective strategies focusing on key account development and new business opportunities
  • Demonstrate excellent product knowledge
  • Responsibility for achieving sales targets
  • Reporting on forecasts, budgets and pipeline activity to the Head of Sales

Skills and experience required:

  • Fluent French verbal and written communication is essential
  • Proven track record in a similar export sales/account management role is desirable
  • Previous experience to distributor networks would be advantageous
  • Experience of managing large accounts and the ability to maximise revenue
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
  • Ability to build strong client relationships
  • Committed, hardworking and flexible
  • Confident, driven and self-motivated
  • This is a field based role covering France and Benelux and involves significant European travel
