Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant/Legal Administrator for our growing client based in the Corby area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join a growing business. Our client specialises in handling deeds of easement for a significant number of clients nationwide.

The ideal candidate would have experience in conveyancing with an organised and time conscious approach to their work with a fast and reactive manner. Possessing the ability to liaise confidently with clients and third parties is a must. We are looking for a positive, proactive and commercially aware individual who thrives in a business office atmosphere, works well under pressure and as part of a diverse team.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Sorting, prioritising mail and responding to routine correspondence without direction
  • Diary management and general office administration
  • Scheduling meetings
  • Monitor status of third party solicitors and progress easement status with them
  • Support third parties in the streamlining the easement process
  • Setting up files and undertaking all initial paperwork
  • Giving clients progress reports and liaising with Solicitors
  • Prepares Variety of legal documents , including legal instructions that are to be sent to solicitors.
  • Assisting in collecting evidence, consolidating facts, perparing documents as needed, and tracking cases
  • Developing cases by providing reaserch for, maintaning communications with involved parties, and cataloguing information provided
  • Maintaining regular communication with clients, helping to keep them informed on case progresses
  • Read case law, make notes, and / or prepare brief as needed
  • Organised and archives files and supporting doucments
  • Verifies information and provided support as approatriate
  • Develop and review information with Solictors
  • Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities: reading professional publications

Skills and experience required:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a law office
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Motivated individual
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Previous experience working in a Legal Assistant/ Legal administrator role preferably residential and residential/commercial conveyancing
  • Confidence with IT systems to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work well in a team and develop good working relationships with colleagues and others
  • Confident interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise openly and clearly with colleagues and clients
  • To be able to produce a high standard of work, often to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy and good attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise well and can cope with changing demands
  • To be able to demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, initiative and self confidence
  • Highly enthusiastic, willing to go the extra mile and be happy to go beyond the job description
  • Respectful towards others and have a positive, willing and 'can do' attitude

Hours:

  • Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm
  • 5 hours per week

Salary and benefits:
