Job Description

Are you looking for an interesting, rewarding and varied position which will utilise your strong administration skills? Do you have excellent communication and organisational skills? Our client, a well-known and successful family owned local business, is looking to recruit an experienced Office Administrator to join their team. Successful candidates will have the ability to organise and prioritise their workload effectively. Strong attention to detail is paramount. Full training will be given.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Deal with telephone and face to face enquiries
  • Action emails
  • Typing of correspondence
  • Meet and greet
  • Responsible for updating client files
  • Data entry on bespoke in-house system
  • General administration as required
  • Maintenance of spreadsheets
  • Banking - completing BACS payments
  • Paying invoices using Quickbooks
  • Responsible for petty cash and recording car mileage
  • Complete quarterly VAT returns for accountants
  • Taking PDQ payments via telephone and face to face
  • Reconciliation - bank and credit cards
  • Proof reading and editing of documents as required
  • Take pre-payments for funerals

Skills and experience required:

  • Strong administration experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organised with intermediate to advanced level in all Microsoft Office packages
  • Basic Quickbooks/ Sage software experience would be advantageous
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Strong written and verbal grammar
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with clients
  • Good sense of humour

Working hours:

  • Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm - 1hr lunch
  • Every 4th Saturday - 9.00am - 12.30pm (paid / time off in lieu)
