Job Description

We are supporting a local charitable incorporated organisation who are seeking an organised and pro-active Office Manager to join their small team. The role will involve day to day accounting and senior administrative duties which support the trustees to further the objectives of the charity.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Daily finance duties including; bank reconciliations, processing of receipts, payments, maintaining accurate financial records, liaison with accountant and support to Chair of Finance Committee
  • Lead role in supporting Committees (Appeals, Relief in Need, Education) including the preparation of agendas, circulation of papers, minutes and actions (this will involve attending an out of hours meeting once a month - time will be given in lieu)
  • Administrative support to Trustees including; logistics, record keeping, research, website and database management, assessing of applications for grants
  • Nominated point of contact for applicants, stakeholders and contractors
  • Operational management of properties and interests of the charity including bookings, liaison with contractors and reviewing of delegated budget
  • Reception duties including meeting and greeting clients and answering the phone
  • Ad-hoc project work requested by the Trustees and the Steward consistent with the objectives of the Charity
  • Keyholder for the organisation

Skills and experience required:

  • Accounts up to trial balance
  • Previous experience of a working within a similar role within a charitable organisation is advantageous
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Sage Line 50 is essential for this position
  • Diplomacy and communication skills to handle complaints and emergencies in a level-headed manner
  • The ability to multitask and manage your time is essential
  • Demonstration of good attention to detail and accuracy (assessment)

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm (1 hour for lunch)

Salary and benefits:

  • Up to £30,000
