Job Description

We're currently recruiting for a skilled financial administrator on behalf of a charitable organisation based in Market Harborough.

Drawing on their specialist expertise, this well-reputed local company offer bespoke legal advice to Christian organisations and churches. The business is experiencing a period of rapid growth due to their unique service and excellent reputation, and they anticipate a busy and successful 2019.

This is a part-time role, providing cover for a period of maternity leave. Due to the urgent nature of the vacancy, applicants should be available immediately, or within a week's notice.

Duties and responsibilities:

You will enjoy a varied role, supporting the business through a number of financial responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of sales and purchase ledger
  • Ensuring all HMRC and pension payments are processed made accurately and punctually
  • Client billing and credit control
  • Resolving enquiries on payments, receipts and billing
  • Monitoring and providing updates on costs billed
  • Administration of company credit cards and expenses
  • Daily bank account management and reconciliation
  • Processing write-offs in line with the correct procedure
  • Monitoring for breaches of Solicitors Accounts Rules and reporting any breaches

In addition to the duties above, you will assist with a range of other administrative duties, including (but not limited to) the following:

  • Ordering consumables and stationery, as well as managing relationships with external suppliers (such as phone providers)
  • Overseeing health and safety provision
  • Ensuring company compliance with data protection and GDPR
  • Assisting with HR processes

Skills and experience required:

  • Educated to A-Level or beyond
  • Sound working knowledge of accounting principles, preferably through AAT study
  • Extensive experience of working within a financial administration team
  • Confident in the use of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups and formulas
  • Demonstrates a positive and helpful working approach
  • Understands the importance of discretion and confidentiality, having processed personal data in previous roles

Hours of work:

  • 28 hours per week (ideally four full days out of five, however other working patterns across five days may be considered)

Salary and benefits:

  • £21,000 (full-time equivalent)
  • 25 days annual holiday + 8 Bank holidays (pro-rata)
