Job Description

Our client, a successful restoration company are seeking a Purchase Ledger/ Credit Control Clerk to join their small friendly team. The successful candidate will have previous experience of Purchase Ledger as purchase ledger. This role would suit someone who is methodical and highly organised and able to work on their own as well as be a team player in a busy working environment.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Match invoices to delivery notes, raise and resolve any queries with the purchasing office
  • Post invoices onto Sage Construct
  • Supplier statement reconciliations & query resolution
  • Credit control via email and telephone
  • Set up new suppliers and keeping Sage database up-to-date
  • Preparation of payment runs (BACS)
  • Assistance with answering the telephone/ reception duties/ postal duties
  • Booking of hotels
  • Keeping a log of quotations and tenders
  • Support to the Directors of the company and the Accounts Manager in day to day running of the office
  • Other general duties as required to assist in a small but busy office; filing, typing of letters

Skills and experience required:

  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience within a purchase ledger position
  • Experience of previously completing credit control
  • Numerate with a good eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and support other areas when needed
  • Good working knowledge of Excel is desirable


  • Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm (one hour lunch - 35 hour working week)

Salary and benefits:

  • £18,000 - £22,000
