Job Description

We are currently supporting the recruitment of a Purchasing Assistant to cover 12 months maternity for our client based in Leicester. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the purchasing team.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Raising purchase orders and send to relevant suppliers
  • Provide the supplier with the relevant drawing to support the purchase order
  • Support the category buyers with the expediting of purchase orders as required to support the business needs
  • Deal with invoice queries
  • Create occasional reports
  • Maintain the supplier database as required
  • Process new customer applications
  • Support the team with new projects
  • Other administration as and when required

Skills and experience required:

  • Good attention to detail
  • Experience of working within a purchasing environment would be advantageous
  • Competent in MS office packages
  • Flexibility
  • Data entry - good keyboard skills
  • Work to deadlines
  • Working in a fast pace environment
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Organised and prioritising

Salary and benefits:

  • Circa £19,500 + benefits
