Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Regional Account Manager to join an
established and well known charitable organisation, to build relationships with Local Authority, Council and Housing Association clients, covering the East of England area.

Due to expansion within their existing team, our client is looking to recruit an ambitious and confident individual with experience of client account management, growing and developing key accounts, and with a track record of winning new business.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with local authority, community, civic and local commercial clients
  • Managing contracts ensuring an exceptional customer experience
  • Arrange appointments to meet with local authorities to pitch for new business
  • Build relationships with Local Authority Officers to ensure that the organisation is invited to tender
  • Actively seek tender opportunities through OJEU, be responsible for bid writing, and contributing content and information for winning tender bids
  • Take ownerships of both personal and regional team target and report sales per period
  • Actively seek new developmental business opportunities
  • Develop new promotional opportunities, in line with marketing plans, including formal presentations that deliver additional income, PR and client recognition
  • Continuously develop industry knowledge to remain up to date with competitors' products and offerings
  • Meet with partners to promote the business and new opportunities
  • Attendance at exhibitions, sales events and local government recycling forums as required

Skills and experience required:

  • Exceptional client relationship and account management skills
  • An understanding of the charity and donation sector, and experience of recycling and reuse process would be advantageous
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Focused, self-motivated and professional
  • Strong communication skills and confident in presenting to clients
  • Personable and approachable
  • This is a field based role covering the East of England, and it is expected that 3-4 days per week would be spent on the road

Salary and benefits:

  • £30,000 - £35,000 basic + fully expensed car
  • Profit share bonus scheme paid annually
