Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to work for a family owned, successful and well established company based in Coalville. We are looking to recruit an experienced administrator to join their busy sales team. Working in a fast-paced environment with an allocated customer base, the successful candidate will be dealing with incoming calls and accurately processing orders. This is a maternity cover role to start immediately.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and being responsible for an allocated group of customers
  • Accurately inputting, processing and overseeing orders
  • Liaising with factories, customers, and other internal departments
  • Monitoring and coordinating delivery of products to trade customers
  • Ensuring final invoice prices are correct on all orders
  • Handling of, and dealing with, inbound calls to the department
  • Calculating prices and providing some technical support on the products
  • Ensuring prompt and accurate filing and archiving of customer orders and correspondence
  • Logging order statistics for reporting purposes and feeding back to line manager
  • Maintenance of electronic filing systems and associated administration tasks
  • Providing office based support for customer queries
  • To ensure and maintain the departments targets and KPI's are achieved.
  • Coordinating feedback and escalation of problems to line manager

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven customer service background, ideally with telephone based experience
  • Previous experience of tender handling is advantageous
  • Understanding and experience of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good numerical ability and a technical mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive and highly organised
  • Strong time management, planning skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Work independently within role but also within the wider team
  • Plan and prioritise workload efficiently and effectively
  • Team player
  • Must have a full UK driving licence, access to own vehicle and be able to reliably commute


  • Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm (30mins lunch)
  • Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm (30mins lunch)

Salary and benefits:

  • £18,000
  • 26 days' holiday plus bank holidays
  • Pension after 6-month probationary period
