Job Description

Our client, a leading manufacturer and supplier to the automotive and oil and gas industries, is looking to appoint an experienced Sales Office Manager to oversee and manage the company's sales team and marketing function.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the sales and business development strategy in line with the company business plan and financial objectives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new customers
  • Identify, research, target and qualify new customers
  • Monitor customer and competitor base to identify future changes in demand
  • Monitor all sales leads and ensure that the sales team maximises opportunities
  • Marketing support to include updating the website, monitoring exhibition attendance and preparing mailings and e-mail promotional campaigns
  • Manage internal sales team and external sales executives, monitoring targets and KPIs
  • Monitor all sales and marketing activities against performance targets
  • Generate new sales leads and opportunities
  • Liaise with other department heads to keep customer service department appraised of any changes
  • Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly sales reports to the Sales Director, alongside reporting to the Board on sales activity and performance
  • Act as liaison point for all sales activities

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience and proven track record in sales office management
  • Experience in manufacturing or an industrial environment is desirable
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience of managing and leading a team, with a good 'team player' ethic
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Mature, diplomatic, tenacious and self-motivated
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Must be proficient with all Microsoft packages plus additional CRM software

Working hours:

  • Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 5.15pm
  • Friday 8.00am - 1.00pm

Salary and benefits:

  • £30,000 - £35,000 + company bonus
