Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Private Client Solicitor to join an expanding client team and branch network in Nottinghamshire. To succeed in this exciting opportunity, you will have proven experience in undertaking all aspects of Private Client work including, Estate Planning, Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney and Probate.

Due to our client focusing on expanding their branch network we are looking for candidates with a minimum of 3 years PQE in the practice area. You will have the desire to manage and build a team of advisors as this is a pivotal part of the role. You will be self-motivated, a strong team player who is ready and willing to mentor and manage staff as well as your own caseload and clients.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal support and advice to clients in Private Client matters
  • Take instruction from clients and progress cases continually advising clients on the law and process involved
  • Meeting and interviewing clients to establish the firm's suitability to provide the required advice and services
  • Drafting documents, letters and contracts tailored to client individual needs
  • Supervising the implementation of agreements
  • Delegating work to trainee advisors, paralegal advisors and support staff as appropriate
  • Corresponding with clients and opposing solicitors
  • Arranging and attending further client meetings where necessary to progress with cases and finalise documentation
  • Proof checking all documentation prior to signing and implementation
  • Time recording and billing clients
  • Taking referrals from other firms of solicitors when a conflict of interest arises or if they have no specialist practitioner available
  • Carrying out risk assessments on all files and notifying compliance of any risks to the firm
  • Carrying out all AML requirements, ensuring all files meet compliance requirements
  • To meet all KPI's in terms of financial targets, compliance and marketing
  • Negotiating with clients and other professionals to secure agreed client objectives

Skills and experience required:

  • 3 years PQE in Private Client
  • Educated to at least CILEX level 3 or have completed LLB
  • Confidence and ability to take responsibility for client files
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks effectively and promptly
  • Potential to lead and delegate responsibility
  • A professional approach to work, integrity and a respect for confidentiality

Salary and benefits:

  • £40,000 - £45,000 plus an attractive benefits package
