Job description:
We’re delighted to be assisting the recruitment of a Credit Controller for a leading distributer with an international presence.
The successful candidate will look after their own portfolio of clients and will work in a small team reporting into the Finance & Administration Manager. Please note that this is an office-based role.
Salary, benefits and hours of work:
- Circa £26,000
- 23 days + 8 bank holidays (raising by 1 day per year to a maximum of 25 days)
- 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday with 30mins lunch
Duties and responsibilities:
- Chasing debt by telephone and email, to reduce debt and DSO
- Investigating and resolving queries relating to non-payment of debts
- Taking payment over the phone and allocating to client accounts
- Bank reconciliations
- Daily cash postings to client accounts
- Completion of credit checks
- Processing of customer account applications
- Customer account maintenance
- Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience within a credit control or finance environment desirable
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Good working knowledge of SAP – desirable and knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong organisational skills including proven ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, willing to support colleagues as requested
