We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to work for a growing manufacturing business with two sites in the UK. This role will be to complete the purchase ledger processing for their site in Gateshead – someone who can ensure accurate timely transactional processing of supplier invoices/payments to support the delivery of financial information for the business.
This role will be working on Access Dimensions and their ERP system (Access Supply Chain) and you will also be updating information on costs, products and customers etc
You will receive a salary of £25,000 per annum along with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, workplace pension, discretionary bonus and on-site parking.
You will be working either 08:00-16:00 OR 09:00-17:00 with a 30-minute lunch break.
As an Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices
- Checking PO’s and matching against GRN spreadsheet
- Supplier master data maintenance – prices, products
- Payment of suppliers via weekly payment runs
- Supplier query resolution
- Reconciliation of supplier statements resolving balancing items with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Management and continuous review of creditors ledger
- Processing and payment of travel and business expenses
- Any other ad-hoc work as requested by the finance function
We are looking for an Accounts Assistant who has the following skills and experiences:
- Previous experience of purchase ledger in a similar role (manufacturing environment desirable)
- High level of attention to detail
- Experience of accountancy software and ERP systems Microsoft Dimensions desirable)
- You will need to demonstrate excellent IT skills, with an ability to use Excel to an intermediate level (pivot tables / VLOOKUP’s – use not creation)
- Must be able to work using own initiative as well as being part of a team
- Professional attitude
- Numerate with the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally at all levels
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise to meet monthly deadlines
- Demonstrates a ‘can-do’ attitude
