We’re delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Legal Secretary with extensive experience in conveyancing and property administration to join a well-reputed local practice.
The successful applicant will provide effective clerical and secretarial support to a busy conveyancing team.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Preparing a variety of correspondence and documents through audio typing and word processing
- Taking telephone calls and dealing with enquiries directly
- Ensuring any telephone messages are taken accurately and are passed to relevant person in a timely manner
- File administration, including importing client details and maintaining accurate records on the case management system
- Liaising with estate agents, clients and other parties in person as well as via telephone and email
- Maintaining internal systems and processes, including ensuring compliance procedures are carried out
- Preparing files for completion, complying with the Company’s file closure procedures
- Typing up bills and invoices as required
- Assisting with any other administrative duties as required to provide clerical support to colleagues
Skills and experience required:
- Extensive secretarial experience in a conveyancing/property role
- Sound understanding of conveyancing practices and procedures
- IT proficient with a good knowledge of MS Office
- Advanced word-processing and audio-typing skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a busy environment, organising and prioritising effectively
- Confident liaising regularly with clients and other professionals both in person and on the telephone
- Sound understanding of confidentiality, protecting client/company information at all times and having a good understanding of GDPR
Hours of work
- Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm with 1 hour lunch break.
Salary and benefits:
- £18,000 – £20,000
- Free parking
- 23 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
