We’re currently recruiting a Sales Ledger Clerk with a strong background in credit control for a manufacturer in Loughborough.
The successful candidate will be responsible the full sales ledger and for chasing outstanding invoices to the company and will play a vital role in the cash-flow of the organisation ensuring credit given to customers is monitored and controlled effectively. This is a varied role, and candidates who are seeking part-time work (4 days) will be considered. Please note that this role will be working on-site at the client’s premises and does not offer home working.
Duties and responsibilities:
- All aspects of sales ledger
- Daily receipts processing and allocation of customer remittances, either directly through the bank or cheque receipts
- Setting up new accounts and gaining credit limit verification
- Reconciliation of client accounts
- Client query resolution including remittance and invoice queries along with purchase orders
- Taking ownership of the debtor ledger and chasing debt by telephone and email and reducing debtor days
- Escalating bad debts to a debt recovery specialist
- Control of credit limits
- Raising of sales invoices
- Managing the purchase order processes and client special requirements for raising sales invoices
- Management of invoice processing via customer self-billing systems
- Inter-company invoicing and reconciliation
- Posting of clock cards onto T&A system
Skills and experience required:
- AAT level 2 + desirable but not essential
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience with a similar environment
- Previous experience of credit control in a B2B environment
- Strong IT skills, with practical experience of using accountancy software systems (Microsoft Dimensions desirable)
- Helpful team member, happy to provide support to colleagues in other areas where required
Hours of work:
- Hours of work – Mon-Thurs 8.30am-5pm, Fri 8.30-2.15 pm, 30 mins for lunch (37.25 hrs)
Salary and benefits:
- Circa £23,000 – dependent upon experience
- 25 days annual holiday + 8 bank holidays (3 to be taken at Christmas)
- Death in service x 1 (after years’ service)
