Part Time Bookkeeper – Temporary Ongoing

We’re looking for a Bookkeeper to work with a local charity to assist with their accounts. This role will be temporary ongoing and for the right candidate could turn into a permanent opportunity. It will involve the day to day transactional work and completion of accounts to trial balance. You will be liaising with the Charity Secretary, Trustees and external accountant and a flexible approach to work is required as there may be times when assistance will be needed by the office team.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for accounts up to trial balance
• Liaison with Charity Secretary, Trustees and external Accountant
• Responsible for setting up new Customer / Supplier accounts and maintain existing account details
• Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
• Bank reconciliations
• Ad-hoc assistance to the office team during busy periods

Skills and experience required:

• Previous experience of working as a bookkeeper with a solid knowledge of accounting
• Good working knowledge of Sage 50 desirable along with Microsoft Word & Excel
• Previous experience of working on charity accounts is desirable but not essential
• Demonstrate a can-do, proactive and motivated approach to any task
• Excellent verbal, written and communication skill
• Discretion and confidentiality
• The ability to work autonomously

Hours:

• 4 – 8 hours per week – can be across 1 or 2 days

Salary and benefits:

• £12.50 – £13.00 per hour dependent upon experience
