An established manufacturing business is looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to work in a small team to assist with purchase ledger for a maternity cover. You will be reporting to the Finance Manager and working with a colleague to ensure that all invoices are correctly processed and paid in a timely manner.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Processing of UK and overseas invoices / credit notes (GBP / USD / EUR)
- Resolution of price and quantity queries with suppliers prior to payment
- Processing receipts onto client accounts
- Weekly payment runs via BACS
- Matching PO’s and GRN’s to invoices
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Month end Purchase Order accruals
- Processing of staff expenses
- Liaison with other departments in relation to pricing / query resolution
- Answering calls and emails for account queries
Skills and experience required:
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience of Purchase Ledger
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables / VLOOKUP’s – use of only – not creation)
- High level of attention to detail
- Must be able to work using own initiative as well as being part of a team
- Numerate with the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally at all levels
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise to meet monthly deadlines
- Experience of data analysis and reporting
Hours:
- Either 08:00-16:00 OR 09:00-17:00 with a 30-minute lunch break
Salary and benefits:
- £25,000
- 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
