We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to work with our client on a temporary basis for 6 – 9 months.
You will be reporting to the Financial Controller and completing transactional accounting on several of their businesses and this role would suit someone who has experience of working for multiple entities or high-volume sales / purchase ledger.
This role will be office based and you need to be comfortable working in a rural environment, as you will require a car to get to the site.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Processing and posting of sales invoices for multiple businesses (approx. 200 per week)
- Reconciliation of GRN’s to invoices and PO’s
- Responsible for setting up new customer / supplier accounts
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
- Credit Control – email only
- Intercompany recharges
- Review of direct debit schedules
- Processing of bank payments /refunds and posting to accounting software
- To assist in the preparation of sales summaries
- Ad-hoc tasks as necessary to ensure the smooth Operation of the Finance Department
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience of working in an account’s environment on a high-volume sales ledger
- Solid knowledge of accounting
- Previous experience of accountancy software
- Demonstrate a can-do, proactive and motivated approach to any task
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skill
- The ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines
Hours:
- Full-time – 37.5 hours per week 9.00am – 5pm (30 mins lunch)
- Part-time – 30 hours (4 days per week)
Salary and benefits:
- Up to £14.50 per hour

- 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays (pro-rata)
