Job description:
Our client is seeking a temporary Accounts Manager to join their organisation to assist during a period of sickness. The role will be reporting directly into the Managing Director and is a standalone position.
Please note that this is an office-based role and only immediately available applicants should apply.
Salary and benefits:

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing purchase invoices onto Sage, arranging authorisation and clearing for payment
- Credit control and responsibility for ensuring the sales ledger is kept up to date
- Managing the processing of the credit card transactions
- Ensuring cashbooks are kept up to date including all past and future known transactions
- Daily reconciliation of Sage bank records
- Completing credit checks and reviewing proposed payment terms
- Liaising with other departments in relation to clock card and timesheet issues
- Overseeing the completion of VAT returns within the legal deadline dates
- Ensuring all taxation payments have been raised in good time for the legal deadline dates
- Preparation of the monthly management accounts and checking for accuracy before submission
- Dealing with Inland Revenue correspondence and highlighting any queries/issues
- Cashflow forecasting and budgeting
- Reviewing cost analysis and liaising with other departments to investigate any discrepancies
- Preparation of wages information for submission to bureau, including commission calculations and dealing with any wages queries
- Dealing with any queries with suppliers and customers that have been escalated by colleagues
- Reporting abnormalities immediately in all aspects of finance
- Preparation and submission of P11ds
- Investigating and resolving any stock discrepancies with the relevant stock manager
Skills and experience required:
- AAT / CIMA part-qualified /QBE
- Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant
- Previous manufacturing experience would be advantageous
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Sage, including importing of transactions from CSV templates
- Extremely organised and self-motivated
- Competent knowledge and understanding of HMRC VAT rules and taxation payments deadlines
