Management Accountant

Our client, a successful and modern accountancy practice, is seeking a Management Accountant to join their growing organisation. In this role you will be working in a friendly and fast paced environment delivering accurate and timely management information to a portfolio of clients.

The ideal individual will have previously worked within a practice environment and have strong interpersonal skills, an outgoing personality and will work well in a small friendly team environment. The role is a hybrid opportunity, and you will be working 2 days from home and 3 in the office after a successful training period.

Duties and responsibilities required:

• Carrying out month-end tasks including:
  • Reviewing the P&L account and investigating variances to budgets/expected balances
  • Reviewing the balance sheet to ensure control accounts are correctly reconciled
  • Entering month end journals for prepayments, accruals, work in progress and deferred income
• Running monthly management reports to include financial statements and other required schedules e.g., headcount, capital expenditure, inventory levels
• Producing cost centre reports and consolidated group accounts, where appropriate
• Updating forecast models with month end actual data
• Assisting with annual budgeting for certain clients, loading budgets into management reporting application and accounting software
• Preparing reports to support claims for government grant funding for research and development work
• ACCA qualified / studying / QBE
