    We’re proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading logistics provider in Market Harborough, who are looking for an enterprising and proactive QHSE Manager to join their team.

    Reporting to the Commercial Director, the successful applicant to this interesting and varied opportunity will be responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing the company Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Management System. You’ll implement safe systems of work and safe behavioural practices at all levels of the organization.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Efficiently and effectively developing, executing, auditing and improving the QHSE management systems and documentation to meet certification requirements and the needs of customers, the business and its stakeholders.
    • Carrying out accident, risk assessment and internal / external non-conformance management.
    • Developing, executing and improving QHSE processes and activities with the emphasis on continuous improvement, defect, accident and environmental impact prevention and compliance with applicable standards, legislation and regulations.
    • Coaching, developing, managing and building knowledge of the team to provide optimum support to the business.
    • Identifying, managing, executing and control team resource requirements including recruitment, appraisals, development, overtime and disciplinary activities to ensure the correct levels are available with the required skills sets to meet the needs of the business.
    • Developing, executing and managing short and long-term QHSE strategy, objectives and KPI’s.
    • Managing and controlling QHSE budgets and spend limits.
    • Executing team briefs and maintain update QHSE performance data.
    • Ensuring all work and time is recorded appropriately on the required documentation and systems.
    • Attending functional and business meetings as required.
    • Developing, implementing and coordinating QHSE training to support needs of the business and its stakeholders.
    • Point of contact for all new employee inductions, as well as customer led audits and visits.
    • Managing all companywide site-specific appliances (As per GANNT document).
    • Ensuring records are recorded, maintained and kept up to date.
    • Carrying out regular visits to other company sites in Corby.
    • Any other relevant QHSE management duties as required.

     

    Skills and experience required:

    • Extensive experience in a QHSE role within a food safety and manufacturing environment
    • NEBOSH
    • First Aid Training
    • Internal Auditor Quality Experience
    • ISO Experience Accreditation 9001: 14001:
    • IOSH Racking Inspection Course
    • HACCP Preferred
    • Diligent, structured, and organised approach to work – with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
    • Ability to work in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment.
    • A positive and ‘can-do’ attitude with logical problem-solving skills.
    • Takes pride in producing thorough and accurate work with strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
    • Able to work as part of a team as well as independently.

     

    Hours of work:

    • Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.30pm

     

    Salary and benefits:

    • £35,000 – £40,000

    • 20 days’ annual leave + 8 bank holidays
