Housekeeping Assistant

We’re looking for a Housekeeping Assistant on behalf of a well-established educational organisation in Market Harborough. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and presentation across accommodation and learning environments.

Due to urgent business requirements, applicants must be available immediately or within one week’s notice. Please note that this will initially be a temporary role, which has the potential to develop into a permanent opportunity.

• £12.71 per hour
• Temp to perm opportunity
• Open to both full-time and part-time applications
• Various working hours available
• Saturday working required
• Subject to an enhanced DBS check

Duties and responsibilities

• Cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, classrooms, corridors and communal areas to a high standard
• Making beds as required
• Carrying out routine housekeeping tasks including vacuuming, mopping, dusting and surface cleaning
• Emptying bins, removing waste and maintaining tidy communal spaces
• Replenishing housekeeping supplies and reporting stock requirements when necessary
• Reporting maintenance issues, damage, hazards or concerns that require attention
• Following health and safety procedures, including the safe use and storage of cleaning products and equipment

Required skills and experience

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
• Reliable and responsible approach to work
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
• Takes pride in helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment
• Positive, professional and adaptable attitude
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Able to follow instructions and adhere to cleaning schedules
• Awareness of health and safety responsibilities within a housekeeping environment
