We’re recruiting on behalf of an independent Accountancy firm who are looking to have someone join their growing Bookkeeping Department. You will be joining a team of four to assist in Bookkeeping and if you have Payroll experience you can use this skill in assisting on some payroll clients.
We are seeking someone who can work on creating effective working relationships with clients and ensuring accurate and timely figures /payroll are produced.
Bookkeeping duties and responsibilities:
- Completion of bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT returns accurately, timely and efficiently
- Carry out a critical review of management accounts and report on material variances
- Ownership and responsibility for a portfolio of bookkeeping clients
- Train clients on bookkeeping software as and when required
Skills and experience required:
- Proven track record of completing bookkeeping or Payroll preferably in a practice environment / or an environment working on several client accounts
- Demonstrate a can-do, proactive and motivated approach to any task
- Microsoft Excel (intermediate) and working knowledge of Xero and Sage Payroll desirable
- Ability to manage own workload
- Display integrity and commitment
- Adaptable to work in different manners and with different software
- Can work to budgets and deadlines
Hours of work:
- Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm (30mins lunch) – 37.5 hour working week
Salary and benefits
- Up to £30,000
- 20 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
