    We are looking for a skilled strategic HR Manager to manage a small HR team. The successful applicant will develop the wider HR functions, working pro-actively to evaluate the HR strategy and grow the EVP as well as developing Key Managers within the business to improve the HR proposition.

    This is a superb opportunity to make your mark, heading up a HR function working for a prestigious Retail Brand, reporting directly into the CEO.

    The business has recently restructured a number of estate and investment initiatives geared towards on-going profitability, as well as developing a fantastic new product offering.

     

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Leading and developing the HR Team, whilst supporting the launch of all HR initiatives
    • Supporting and advising the leadership team in delivering effective performance management
    • Developing and maintaining succession planning tools to forecast internal and external recruitment needs
    • Researching and developing initiatives which place the company as an employer of choice
    • Overseeing and reviewing benefits packages.
    • Producing clear, accurate and timely advice on the use of ER policies across the business
    • Providing guidance and coaching to the Retail Operations team to ensure effective ER management
    • Leading the management of complex ER issues
    • Ensuring that the workplace is free from discrimination and harassment of any kind, that colleagues are treated fairly, consistently and with respect; taking immediate action where this is not the case
    • Checking that all Company practices, policies and procedures comply with all legal regulations
    • Managing all recruitment and L&D matters, providing top level support and guidance and ensuring that all recruitment processes and documents are up to date with legislation and business needs
    • Liaising with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure HR action plans are reviewed and acted upon
    • Occasional travel and overnight stays

     

    Skills and experience required:

    • Extensive previous HR experience within a large, fast-paced business (ideally a retail operations environment) with the ability to work strategically to develop the HR Proposition in the company
    • You’ll be an excellent leader with extensive experience in HR across the board
    • Strategic experience of having driven a larger business forward with the HR proposition and positive results
    • CIPD Level 5 or above is preferable; relevant QBE considered
    • Strong, up-to-the-minute understanding of employment law and HR best practices
    • Experience of managing and coaching a team
    • IT proficient; a good knowledge of MS Excel in particular is essential

     

    Hours of work:

    • Monday to Friday
    • Hybrid working 2-3 days a week

     

    Salary and benefits:

    • £55,000 – £60,000
