    We’re delighted to present an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and well-established company in Leicestershire, who are looking for a talented and resourceful People & HR Officer. This is a BRAND NEW, stand alone HR role, where you will have complete ownership from inception to execution.

    Reporting to the MD you will be fully involved in driving forward the people agenda for this small, growing, entrepreneurial business that has a strong commitment to team engagement and development.

    As an effective employee champion and change agent you will be anticipating HR-related needs and deliver value added services for the benefit of the employees. Working closely with colleagues across the business to effectively deliver positive employee engagement and people management.

     

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Gain a clear understanding of the business objectives, values, vision etc to devise and implement policies that support them
    • Establish HR systems and processes, ensuring that company employment policies follow laws and regulations, interpret and advise on employment law when necessary
    • Evaluate the current Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and make recommendations to develop programmes that enhance employee engagement
    • Reviewing and developing appropriate reward and recognition system / programme incorporated into the EVP. Review remunerations ensuring employees have correct pay and benefits
    • The whole recruitment lifecycle; appoint, develop and retain the right staff ie: develop Job Specifications and KPI’s and a positive performance management system
    • Carry out strategy and planning activities and develop strategies to meet immediate and long-term staff requirements
    • Develop and implement policies on performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management etc
    • Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
    • L&D – Analyse training needs in conjunction with the Management Team, to work in partnership and support them and develop skill set, co-ordinate management training etc
    • Deal with any D&G and implement procedures

     

    Skills and experience required:

    • Level 5 CIPD qualification or QBE
    • 3+ years’ experience in a similar HR / People Officer role
    • Must be confident to make suggestions and take the lead in developing the HR proposition across the business
    • Comfortable doing a stand-alone role, working with the Management Team by taking ownership of the whole People agenda and Human Resources
    • Ability to influence, drive change positively
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to work with the Management Team
    • Dynamic and personable with a positive “can-do” attitude
    • Self-motivated, dedicated and driven to achieve results
    • Good IT Skills across MS Office

     

    Hours of work:

    • Part time – 25 hours per week
    • Hybrid working pattern available

     

    Salary and benefits:

    • £38,000 – £40,000 pro-rata
    • 24 days annual leave (+ bank holidays and an additional day off for birthday) pro-rata
