    We are currently supporting the recruitment of a Business Development Director for a dynamic and forward-thinking marketing services company who provide innovative solutions for clients and their brands.

    We’re looking for a Business Development expert from a digital marketing services background, who excels in building prosperous relationships with clients and helping them to realise the true potential of the range of digital services available to them.

     

    As Business Development Director, you’ll have the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Achieving and exceeding budgeted new sales revenues and gross margin targets
    • Developing and extending strong relationships with key UK CPG and retailer clients
    • Creating and delivering sales presentations and proposals in order to negotiate and close sales with clients
    • Identifying client opportunities and issues and creating solutions that address these
    • Preparing, monitoring, and reporting progress against sales action plans
    • Negotiating and preparing sales contracts, seeing them through to completion
    • Supporting the utilisation of CRM and reporting systems to drive sound decision making and efficiency
    • Monitoring market conditions and competition; keeping up to date with industry trends and FMCG activity
    • Working with Campaign Delivery team to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to clients
    • Building a positive team environment and developing relationships across the group
    • Partnering with marketing and lead generation functions to establish successful demand generation, trade marketing, channel, and partner programs
    • Leveraging international client relationships and sharing best practices with other European sales teams
    • Assisting in other related activities as requested from time to time by the company

     

    We’re looking for a Business Development Director with the following skills and experience:

    • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Business, Marketing, Communications, or similar
    • Extensive experience in a Senior Business Development Management role, including experience working in a digital environment
    • Proven ability to lead and manage sales staff
    • Experience of CPG and grocery retail industry
    • Experience of retail media networks, personalised marketing, consumer analytics, and / or data commercialisation would be an advantage
    • Very comfortable with technology e.g., CRM systems such as Salesforce, Microsoft Office, MS SharePoint
    • Proven ability to drive and deliver significant top-line growth and gross margin with a track record of consistently delivering revenue targets
    • Able to identify opportunities to develop new solutions to meet client needs
    • Builds strong relationships both with clients and with colleagues
    • Strong commercial acumen – highly pragmatic around time investment
    • Entrepreneurial self-starter with a proven ability to organise own schedule and priorities
    • Well versed in all aspects of the sales cycle and delivering against sales processes
    • Extensive experience in personally structuring deals and negotiating terms

     

    Working hours:

    • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours
    • Hybrid working pattern – 3 days per week working from home.

     

    Salary and benefits:

    • £50,000 – £65,000 + excellent commission potential
