    Job description:

    We are currently working with a family-owned organisation who are currently recruiting for a skilled part-time Management Accountant to join their team and support a growing area of the business.

    Known for being rooted in strong values, this well-reputed developer takes a bespoke approach to each project, allowing them to deliver quality and value, while working closely in partnership with a range of stakeholders and the local community.

    The successful applicant will monitor and report on the financial aspects of all the initiatives the company are involved in. The role presents an interesting opportunity to become involved in a range of schemes across the Midlands.

     

    Hours of work:

    • 25-30 hours per week – flexible on days / hours
    • Office based

     

    Salary and benefits:

    • £45,000 pro-rata dependent upon experience
    • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (Pro-rata)
    • Company pension scheme (5% employee / 5% employer)

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Creation of management accounts for projects
    • Review and approve supplier invoices and overhead charges for projects
    • Investigate project variances and prepare report for management
    • Calculation of project costs recoverable from clients
    • Completion of cost modelling and report on project profitability to management
    • Cashflow reporting
    • Prepare annual budget relating to project spend
    • Close out project accounts upon project completion
    • Compile information for internal and external auditors
    • Liaison with external agencies, land developers and consultancy firms

     

    Skills and experience required:

    • ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified / part qualified or AAT qualified
    • Extensive experience in similar roles, particularly within small independent business environments
    • Experience of project accounting or knowledge of the land / housing development industry would be an advantage
    • Strong working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables / VLOOKUP’s)
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Demonstrates a positive and helpful approach
    • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously in a standalone role
    • Understanding of Xero would be an advantage but not essential
