    We are excited to be supporting the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant for an established local retailer of premium brand products. This is a new role is due to business growth and will be reporting into the Business Manager and In-house Accountant assisting with the day to day transactional accounting duties. This role will be office based.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Matching GRN’s to supplier Invoices
    • Coding and processing of invoices onto Sage 50cloud (approx. 50 – 100 per week)
    • Supplier statement reconciliation
    • Preparing supplier payment runs
    • Bank reconciliations
    • Supplier query resolution
    • Allocation of receipts and management of direct debit payments / standing orders
    • Processing and reconciliation of credit card receipts, expense claims and petty cash
    • Assisting with the preparation of finance reports for In-house Accountant
    • Stock control and inventory on inhouse system
    • Assisting Inhouse Accountant with month end reporting to Parent Company (PLC)
    • Adhoc project work
    • Continuous process improvement review

     

    Skills and experience required:

    • AAT qualified / studying
    • Minimum 2-years previous experience of working in an Accounts Assistant role in a small team
    • A high level of IT user competence, particularly in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP’s & Formulas)
    • with practical experience of using accountancy software systems (Sage 50cloud desirable)
    • Able to work independently and part of a team
    • Excellent analytical skills, having worked comprehensively with financial data in previous roles
    • Demonstrates outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong time-management, organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to adapt to changing
    • workloads and consistently meet deadlines
    • Demonstrates a professional and helpful communication style

     

    Hours:

    • 35 hours per week (9am – 5pm Monday to Friday)

     

    Salary and benefits:

    • £22,000 – £24,000
    • 20 days annual holiday + 8 bank holidays (pro-rata)
