Vanilla Bamboozle Marathon
The Vanilla team are running a marathon and we’d be eternally grateful if you could help us out in some small (or large) way
Our local community is extremely important to us and as a result we’ve been actively supporting Bamboozle Theatre for many years. Bamboozle are based in Leicester and create possibilities for disabled children. Their mission is to offer learning for disabled children and young people, along with their families and carers, innovative opportunities to interact meaningfully with the world, and to confound expectations of what disabled children can achieve.
What are we doing? – The Vanilla team are running the 70 Seventy Bamboozle Marathon which will be held at Leicester Racecourse (how awesome is that?!) Along with hundreds of others we are taking on this unique challenge in the first run of its kind for two-legged participants at Leicester Racecourse! As a team we will be running a full 26 mile marathon around the racecourse (10 full laps).
When is it? – The marathon takes place on SATURDAY 22nd JUNE 2019 at Leicester Racecourse
How can you help? – There are several ways you can help and even be a part of the event on the big day. You’d be helping Bamboozle and the phenomenal work they do if you could choose to do one (or more) things from the following list:
1. SPONSOR A VANILLA MILE
We’re looking for businesses or individuals to sponsor one of our 26 marathon miles. We are looking for a £50 minimum donation (but please feel free to sponsor more) and in return you will receive:
- As many social media name checks, links and mentions on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter from our Vanilla accounts that we can realistically give you. We will share as much as we can (without inundating people) 🙂
- Your company logo to appear on a banner for photos on the day for social media and PR use.
- Mentions in any local press activity we do plus any follow up social media and PR use.

2. DONATE WHAT YOU CAN
We are not natural marathon runners here at Vanilla and this event is going to be a real challenge for us all. Every penny raised will go to Bamboozle and helping disabled children and their families. Please, please, please help us and Bamboozle by donating as much or as little as you can. We are all eternally grateful for any donation you can give. Thank you.
3. JOIN US ON THE DAY
You are all very welcome to run the marathon with us, but if not then you’re still invited to Bamboozle’s Big Family Fete on the day (Saturday 22 June, Leicester Racecourse, 10am – 3pm). It’ s a FREE ENTRY and we would like to invite as many people as possible to join us for a day that is sure to entertain the whole family.
Bring your own picnic and watch the teams of runners race around the track – there’ll also be food stalls & lots more!
As well as the marathon relay, Bamboozle will be raising money throughout the day where there’ll be indoor stalls, raffles and games, “tranquility corner” with massages and a nail bar, live music and entertainment with characters and songs from Bamboozle’s shows, ice cream and loads of cake!
It’s Bamboozle’s big event of the summer, so dust off your picnic hampers, bring along your blankets and join us for a day of family fun. The event is free, but do make sure to bring lots of cash (there is no facility for card payments at the event sorry) as there will be plenty of opportunities to buy treats & take part in games – with all of the proceeds supporting Bamboozle.
